No stranger to receiving the most snow in North America, Alyeska Resort, Alaska, is at it again. Just 10 days after smashing through the 600″ mark, the most recent storm has taken it past 700. The resort has seen 721โณ of fresh snow this season and has a 201โณ base.
700″. That’s over 58 feet of fresh snow this season. Only four other resorts have even reached 500โณ.
700″. 58-feet. That’s enough to bury a Brachiosaurus. Or 12 Danny DeVitos. Or three giraffes.

Alyeska has exceeded 500โณ seven times in the last few years. Last season, they reported 740โณ; in 2022-23 785โณ; in 2020-21 735โณ; in 2015-16 785โณ; in 2011-12 733โณ, and 2010-11 581โณ.
Alyeska averages 650โณ of snowfall on the upper mountain and 512โณ of snowfall at mid-mountain. The biggest year on record was 2012, with 978โณ of snowfall.
The world record for a ski area is 1,140โณ at Mt. Baker ski area, WA, in 1998-99.
