Alyeska Ski Resort, AK = Biggest Snowfall Total in North America & Deepest Snowpack in North America

Alyeska ski resort in Girdwood, AK is going off right now.

They’ve seen 20″ of new snow in the past 24 hours.

They’ve seen 455″ of snowfall this season.  (the next closest is Mt. Baker at 357″)

They have a 147″ snowpack.

“20-inches overnight, 147″ base up top and still dumping! What are you still doing at work?! Lifts are spinning until 9pm tonight through Saturday for night skiing, so drive safe and we’ll ski you on the slopes!” – Alyeska, AK today

This all means that Alyeska has the biggest snowfall total in North America and their tied with Mt. Baker ski area for the deepest snowpack in North America at 147″. 

Oh, and Alyeska has snow in the forecast the next 3 days.

Oh, oh, and NOAA just said that Alyeska is forecast to see above average precipitation in the month of February.
