The Yosemite Rim Fire has now burned nearly 200,000 acres. It’s strong, powerful, and relentless. It doesn’t sleep, it just eats. It’s a monster.

This video calms it down a bit and makes it appear beautiful. And it is. “Fire is the Earth’s cleaner.” That statement is true enough, but 100+ year of fire suppression in the Sierra Nevada has created a stacked tinder box ready to burn. This cleanse is a bit too deep and in such a beautiful area.
