Two more Oregon ski resorts are opening up this weekend! In Oregon only Mt. Bachelor and Timberline Lodge are open daily. Mt. Hood Meadows was open last weekend, and might be open this weekend. They have not made an official announcement. Anthony Lakes near Baker City, Oregon and Ferguson Ridge in Joseph, Oregon will be kicking off their ski seasons this weekend.

Anthony Lakes and Ferguson Ridge both deserve some support from skiers. If lift tickets were any cheaper at either of these ski areas, they would be paying you to ski there. Lift tickets are only $35.00 at Anthony Lakes, and those already cheap tickets are half price on Thursdays. Lift tickets for the T-bar at Ferguson Ridge are only $20.00 per day!

Anthony Lakes will be open from 9:00am-4:00pm this Saturday and Sunday. On the other side of the mountains, Ferguson Ridge will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am-4:00pm. This is opening weekend for both ski areas.

Both of these ski areas are old-school ski resorts, and that’s what makes them great. They are non-profit ski areas, meaning that they are all about making skiing fun. Anthony Lakes has one triple chair accessing some great terrain in Eastern Oregon. Ferguson Ridge is a real throwback.

They have an old T-Bar, they don’t take credit cards, they don’t even have running water at the ski area! They are a great community based ski area that is kept open with volunteer efforts. Hopefully Ferguson Ridge can get open and stay open, as they have had trouble staying open through some of these recent bad snow years.
