Arapahoe Basin Ski Area will host its fourth annual Gay Basin: Ski & Ride With Pride event on May 17–18, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community with a weekend of skiing, music, and festivities. The event kicks off Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with a Pride parade from the summit to Black Mountain Lodge, followed by a DJ set featuring Don Fuego and special guest Griffin Maxwell Brooks. An afterparty at Outer Range Brewing Co. in Frisco will feature a limited-edition Gay Basin Extra Pale Ale.
“A-Basin is a positive place with a positive vibe,” the resort wrote in a social media post. “We uplift all who respectfully join us to celebrate, support, and welcome one another.”
Sunday’s activities include another Pride parade at 10:30 a.m., with performances by Play Haus and guests Shayna P, Brok, Banana Splits, Brenda Staxxx, and Anastasia Krystals at Black Mountain Lodge. A portion of the weekend’s sales will benefit Mountain Pride. Foot passenger tickets are available for non-skiers at $25.
