Snowbowl celebrates longest ski season in 87 years, totaling 185 operating days.
Arizona Snowbowl, the state’s premier ski and snowboard destination, is celebrating a historic milestone: the longest ski season in the resort’s 87-year history. With a closing date of Sunday, June 1, the 2024–25 season will span 185 days, offering more than six months of skiing and snowboarding.
The record-setting season was made possible by early snowmaking, which built a solid base, 200 inches of natural snowfall, and consistent snow grooming to maintain optimal conditions. The resort opened on November 8, 2024, its earliest opening ever, and will remain open into June for the second consecutive year.
“We’re thrilled to announce the 2024–25 season has set a new record for the most skiable days in Arizona Snowbowl’s 87-year history. Thanks to our dedicated team, an early November opening, and strategic investments in snowmaking, we’ve delivered our longest season ever, giving people the freedom to ski,” said Angie Grubb, marketing manager at Arizona Snowbowl.
The mountain operations team began snowmaking on October 18, 2024, and continued through February 28, 2025, laying the groundwork for an exceptional winter. The resort also debuted the new Aspen Chairlift this season, a fixed-grip quad that added new beginner terrain within the current U.S. Forest Service special use permit area.
The resort has seen 200 inches of snowfall this season and currently has a 33-inch base.
Skiing, Scenic Gondola Rides and Summer Activities
Scenic Gondola Rides will be offered May 23–26 and May 31–June 1, taking guests to 11,500 feet—the highest lift-served point in Arizona—with views of the Coconino National Forest, San Francisco Peaks, and the Grand Canyon. Tickets start at $29 and include $10 in Bowl Bucks. On May 31–June 1, guests can also enjoy summer activities on the mountain, including the Bungee Trampoline, Tubing Hill, and Climbing Wall.
Buy Now, Ski Now with a 2025–26 Season Pass
Arizona Snowbowl’s Power Pass is on sale now for the 2025–26 season, starting at $549 for youth and $849 for adults. Passes are valid for the remainder of the 2024–25 season and include access to nine other resorts across the Southwest, Pacific Northwest, and South America, including Chile. Season pass payment plans increase on May 14 at midnight.
Snowbowl’s Power Kids Pass is the only season pass in North America that offers unlimited, free skiing for all children 12 and under. No purchase is required, and there are no blackout dates. Arizona Snowbowl will transition to daily summer operations beginning Friday, June 6, conditions permitting. Elsewhere in the country, only Mammoth Mountain has officially committed to opening in June. However, summer-only ski area Beartooth Basin opens on May 26, Timberline Lodge remains open throughout the summer, and Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, will be open as late as possible.
