Hot on the heels of Vail Resorts’ announcement that they are extending the season at a number of their US resorts, Aspen Skiing Co. (Skico) announced yesterday that they will be extending the season at Snowmass by a week. The mountain will now close on April 25th.

Big News: We’re making up for lost time by inviting you to ski with us a little longer this spring. Last March our lifts stopped spinning and our season came to an abrupt halt. And while we can’t turn back time, we can extend it. We’re thrilled to announce we are extending the season at Snowmass through April 25. So come join us, carve the corduroy, slash the slush and soak up the spring sun for one extra week this ski season.

Snowmass has seen a relatively dry season, with their snowpack currently sitting at 64″, or 78% of average. With the potential for a big storm this weekend, hopefully, the pattern is changing and we’ll see some decent spring powder days right through until April 25th.
