Aspen Snowmass will open for the 2025-26 winter season on Thursday, November 27, unveiling one of its most significant rounds of improvements in over a decade. From new lift infrastructure to expanded snowmaking and upgraded dining, all four mountains will feature notable updates when the resort welcomes skiers and riders for opening day.

Snowmass leads the list of enhancements with two new lifts debuting this winter: an upgraded Elk Camp six-pack and a realigned Cirque, now operating as a T-bar. The resort says the additions will improve upper-mountain access and help ease congestion on high-traffic days.

Snowmaking, glading, and forest-health projects also saw major investment. Snowmass completed snowmaking upgrades on Hal’s Hollow and Funnel, while Buttermilk enhanced coverage in its park. Additional thinning and glading work continued in Hero’s, Steeplechase, and Deep Temerity, along with a full refresh of Timber Doodle Glade on Tiehack.

Ullrhof, one of Snowmass’ key mid-mountain lodges, is undergoing a full rebuild and will remain closed until the 2026-27 season. In the meantime, guests can look forward to a new 120-seat deck at Elk Camp Restaurant, featuring oversized retractable umbrellas, weather-proof walls, and sweeping views.

Across all four mountains, food and beverage operations are receiving a substantial update. This season brings new grab-and-go lunch options, dedicated kids’ meals, a resort-wide Happy Hour, and revamped menus at Merry-Go-Round, High Alpine, and Alpin Room. Returning favorites include Cloud Nine and Cabin snowcat dinners, along with a season-long Snowmass pop-up called The Hot Dogger, created in partnership with Hot Dog Hans.

With new lifts, fresh terrain improvements, and expanded on-mountain dining, Aspen Snowmass is preparing for a strong start to the 2025-26 winter-and one of its most upgraded seasons in recent memory.
