Snowmobiler Avalanche Death in British Columbia, Canada Over Weekend

On Saturday, January 18th, at 12:32pm Valemount, B.C. police were sent distress signals from several SPOT emergency beacons.  The signals were coming from the Clemina Creek snowmobile area.  At this location, a snowmobiler was caught by an avalanche, buried, and lost his life.

Search & Rescue teams confirmed that the man was deceased and had to leave the area due to avalanche danger.

The Canadian Avalanche Center (CAC) had issued a special public avalanche warning over the weekend in British Columbia due to very high avalanche danger.
