A small storm hit Cerro Catedral ski resort on Friday night.

It dropped a reported 3cms at the ski resort, but in the backcountry, something different happened.

The skies cleared early on Saturday morning and after skiing some dust-on-crust conditions inbounds, we headed out.

Immediately, we saw that something special had happened.

The snow was deep, smooth, dry.

When we got out our zone, we were pumped.

The spines were in and looking as good as ever.

Upon dropping in, it was clear that it was going to be a special day.

I’d say it was the best snow I’ve skied down here this season.

Blower powder.

We skied two runs in the spines then a longer run in the Sun Chutes and called it a day.

On my 2nd run, I got one ferocious faceshot.

That night we went out for dinner and drinks with a big gringo crew and my nerdy buddies from Argentina’s NASA and had an absolute ball.

This place is special.

Very special.
