Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina has had a bumpy start. Â They opened, then had to close again after a big rain storm. Â Today, it’s lookin’ like things are shaping up again.
New snow has fallen and the upper mountain and things are lookin’ ok up there. Â Still looks like there is a ways to go before people are truly freeriding, but at least you can hit the groomers and there is a bit of pow.
Not a lot is open just yet this season. Â Today, the gondola is open along with Diente de Caballo chair, Triple Park chair, Condor III, the Sextuple, Lynch, Punta Nevada, La Hoya, and Princessa I & II. Â That’s not bad for June. Â The key is to get Nubes open. Â If Nubes is open, you can ski hard all day. Â If it’s not, it’s a bit of a toss up.
We’ll have a reporter stationed in Bariloche beginning in the end of July. Â He’s waiting for things to fill in a bit.
When is the best time to go to South America anyway?
