Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina is starting to build up enough snowpack to make things interesting. Actually, from these photos, the upper mountain is looking damn good. One of our reporters there, local ripper Julian, just sent us these photos and this report.
He’s reporting that there is over a 3 foot base at the top and that you can ski to the bottom. Many years, you can never ski all the way to the bottom. Sounds like there is already plenty of good skiing and riding to be had.
It snow finally! We have a few “cm” at the bottom (may be 10) and almost 1 meter at the top. Here you have a few pics take them from the bottom. You can see condor 2, Punta Nevada and Nubes in that order. The snow is not so soft, it´s like a little bit wet. You can ride until the bottom just try to be really careful because not all the rocks are cover by the snow and there is not smooth tracks from 1200 until the base. The sky it´s getting cloudy again this night so may be we have more snow coming. In a few words, if you like to ride and you are a strong rider you can enjoy all the mountain now! – Julian
