Bear Valley, California, is kicking off the season right on schedule. Thanks to steady cold nights and a busy snowmaking crew, the resort is opening this Friday, November 28, and will run through Sunday, November 30. After the weekend, Bear Valley will pause midweek and reopen on Saturday, December 6, as mountain operations continue to bring more terrain online.
For opening weekend, Cub Chair will offer laps on Cub Meadow, and the Mokelumne Express will serve Mokelumne West and Mokelumne. Early season conditions still exist, so the resort is reminding guests to respect closures and follow all safety signs.
The cold pattern is expected to return soon, and once temperatures drop again the snowmaking team will be back at work. Bear Valley now has 20 snowguns on the backside, which should help unlock that terrain sooner once the weather cooperates.
Thanksgiving weekend is shaping up to be a great time to visit. Roads are clear, the forecast looks calm and sunny, and the mountain is ready for people to stop by, pick up season passes, and enjoy a drink at Maurys Mustang Bar. There is also a full lineup of events throughout the weekend.

Bear Valley is rolling out several online ticket deals for the start of the season. The best prices are only available through the resort website.
- Black Friday Ticket for $109: A single unrestricted day ticket good for any day of the 2025 to 2026 season. No blackout dates. Sale ends at midnight on Cyber Monday.
