Beartooth Pass, MT/WY is CLOSED Due To Snowstorm Today

Beartooth pass on the MT/WY boarder is closed today, June 10th, due to “winter like conditions on the pass on the Wyoming side.”

This means that Beartooth Basin summer-only ski area is closed today as well.

This also means that Beartooth Basin might also experience a powder day tomorrow…

Beartooth Basin is open daily until July 4th.

“BEARTOOTH HIGHWAY 12 MILES SO. OF RED LODGE CLOSED AT VISTA PT.

BEARTOOTH PASS IS CLOSED AT VISTA PT DUE TO WINTER LIKE CONDITIONS ON THE PASS ON WY SIDE. WY SIDE IS COMPLETELY CLOSED.TRAVELERS GOING UP PASS ON MT SIDE WILL NEED TO TURN AROUND AND RETURN TO RED LODGE WHEN THEY GET TO VISTA PT.. ROAD CONDITIONS ARE SCATTERED SNOW AND ICE ON TOP OF PASS.HIGH WINDS & LIGHT SNOW FALLING. HEAVY DRIFTING ON TOP OF PASS. WATCH FOR CHANGING ROAD CONDITIONS.UPDATES GIVEN AS THEY OCCUR.” – Montana Department of Transportation

  1. My dad grew up in Encampment Wyoming on the Continental Divide, I remember him saying it wasn’t uncommon to get snow on the 4th of July.
