Big Sky Resort, MT announced today that they’ll be opening on Thursday with 750 acres of terrain and four major lifts. 

The resort currently has a 22″ base at the bottom and a 33″ base up top. It’s going to be an opening day for the books.

Big Sky Resort to Open with 750 Acres of Terrain and Four Major Lifts

Big Sky, Mont. (November 20, 2018) – On Opening Day, Thursday, November 22, skiers and riders will enjoy access to 750 acres of terrain accessed by Swift Current, Explorer, Powder Seeker, and Challenger lifts, plus four surface lifts. Early season snowfall has delivered more than 70 inches of snow to Big Sky Resort this fall. The Lone Peak Tram will be open for scenic rides. Two terrain parks will open Thursday: Explorer Park and Swifty 2.0 Park.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on November 22, skiers and snowboarders will have access to the following lifts at Big Sky Resort:                                                               

·         Swift Current

·         Explorer

·         Powder Seeker

·         Challenger

·         Lone Peak Tram (scenic rides only)

·         Small Fry surface lift

·         Beehive Basin surface lift

·         Middle Basin surface lift

·         Bear Basin surface lift

On December 22, 2018, celebrate the first full day of winter in soulful style at Big Sky Resort. Ride the new Ramcharger 8 lift, the first 8-seat chairlift in North America, to the deck at Everett’s 8800 for a Winter Soulstice Après Party. Welcome winter with a DJ, drink specials, and a photo contest with prizes from Big Sky Resort. The celebration continues in the Mountain Village plaza with a DJ and après specials.
