It’s been a mostly dry for the past month in Bariloche, Argentina. All anyone can talk about is the lack of snow. Conditions have been springlike and fun, but the mountain needs snow, badly.
The past few days there has been snow in the forecast for this coming weekend. Now, all anyone can talk about in Bariloche is the coming storm. We were cautious not to talk about the storm here until it was within 3 days. Now that it is, we are feeling confident enough to put it up.
In general, snow-forecast.com’s forecast is usually doubled in actuality here in Bariloche. Right now, they are forecasting a little over 1 foot of snow for this weekend, so we are hoping for 2 feet. We’ll see.
Nevados de Chillan in Chile has the banger forecast right now. Their forecast is showing 33” of snow between now and Monday. If that gets doubled, it’d be unreal. We aren’t sure how the forecasts work over there, however as we have been yet. Gonna have to go check it out this season.
Current conditions at Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina remain freeze-thaw, springtime conditions. It’s fun and you can even do some of the hikes and harvest quality corn.
