Big White Ski Resort, BC, to Open on Thursday, December 4, After Unexpected Snowfall

Big White Ski Resort in British Columbia will open for the 2025-26 season on Thursday, December 4 at 8:45 a.m., after three inches (eight centimetres) of fresh overnight snow at lower elevations and continuous work from resort operations.

The resort will open with limited terrain, serviced by the Ridge Rocket Express, Bullet Express Quad, Plaza Chairlift, and the gondola.

“Our team has been working around the clock, pushing snow, trucking snow, and making snow with the limited guns we have. The unexpected 8 centimetres overnight pushed us over the edge, and we are excited to announce an opening for Thursday, December 4,” Michael J. Ballingall, senior vice-president of sales and marketing, said.

Guests are reminded to ski and ride only on terrain opened and approved by Ski Patrol.
