After a long season and a major push to extend operations, Black Mountain Ski Area in New Hampshire is set to close for the season on Saturday, May 3, nearly two months later than last year. This yearโs extended season marks a major milestone for the historic resort, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a special Closing Day event featuring $9 lift tickets, live music from a six-piece band, and a fireworks show.
Black Mountain is currently the last ski area still operating lifts in New Hampshire, open Friday through Sunday, leading up to its final day. The resort credits improved snowmaking technology and a dedicated staff for making the late-season skiing possible.
Located in Jackson, New Hampshire, Black Mountain is one of the oldest continuously operating ski areas in the United States. First opened in 1935, it has remained a fixture in the White Mountains for generations of skiers. The Closing Day celebration is open to the public, and all are invited to join in marking the end of the season โ and the start of the resortโs next chapter.
