The bodies of 3 climbers still roped together were found on the Miage Glacier of Mont Blanc, Italy this week.

These climbers are suspected to have perished on Mont Blanc in 1995.

“The glacier is constantly shifting and we can say that the deaths occurred around 1995.” – Spokesman for the Alpine rescue police service in Italy’s northwestern Val d’Aoste region.

The BBC reports that one of the climbers carried a German ID card that said he was 23-years-old.

The bodies were discovered by a French climber.

Rescuers will attempt to recover the bodies when conditions allow.

The Miage Glacier is Italy’s longest glacier.

In July a couple missing in Switzerland for 75 years appear at the edge of a glacier.

The search for a missing Japanese climber missing on Mont Blanc was called off this week.
