Body of Snowboarder Found at Vail Ski Resort After Missing for 2-Days

The body of a 25-year-old snowboarder, Logan Salviano, was found at Vail ski resort on Thursday by ski patrol.  Logan was last seen on Tuesday.  Vail was notified that Logan was missing on Wednesday.

Logan was found “off of an expert fun on the front side of the mountain.  He was transported off the mountain where he was pronounced dead by the Eagle County Coroner’s Office,” a Vail spokespreson wrote in a statement.

Vail coroner Kara Bettis said Logan was found in a tree well.  Vail has seen 7″ of snowfall in the past 7 days.

“You could see Chairs 3 and 4 from where he was.We don’t know his cause of death at this time … he is being autopsied this week.” – Vail coroner Kara Bettis

Logan worked at Vail’s Two Elk Lodge.

It’s unknown what Logan’s cause of death was. 

“We ruled it was non criminal.” – Sheriff’s spokesperson Jessie Mosher

  1. ****ing tree wells – scary enough for a skier…might be able to detach from your skis MAYBE and squirm out of it…but snowboarders are pretty much locked into their boards, aren’t they? End up in a tree well upside down as a snowboarder and I imagine your chances are really bleak.
