You HAVE GOT to watch this video from Nasa about Saturn’s Hurricane

This is spectacular.  It’s almost hard to believe.  Saturn has a hurricane that is locked onto it’s North Pole.  It was just discovered.  It’s an enormous storm that’s eye is 1,250 miles across.  Learn more below:

SATURN HURRICANE FACTS:

– NASA’s Cassini space probe took these photos & has been in orbit around Saturn for 9 years.  

– 300 mph winds are blowing in this hurricane (that’s 4 times hurricane force winds)

– The eye of this hurricane is 1,250 miles across

– The fluffy clouds in the middle are the size of Texas

– High clouds are Red, low clouds are Green

– This hurricane is locked onto the north pole

SATURN FACTS:

– Made of gas

– 755 times bigger than Earth

– May have a solid core

– Saturn’s largest moon, Titan, is the only moon in the Solar System to possess an atmosphere

– Saturn would float in water (i.e. it’s very low in density)

– 1 day on Saturn (1 revolution) = 10.5 Earth hours

– 1 year on Saturn (one orbit of Sun) = 30 Earth years
