This past Sunday, scientist working in Mexico’s Laguna Ojo de Liebre discovered a Gray Whale with two heads floating in the surf near the beach.  This two headed whale is actually a pair of conjoined Gray Whale twins.

It’s believed that these conjoined twins likely didn’t survive birth and may have been born earlier than full term as this whale(s) is only 7 feet long compared to a normal full term Gray Whale that would normally measure 12-16 feet long.

This is the first ever documented case of conjoined twin in the Gray Whale species.  Conjoined twins have been discovered in other whale species such as the Minke Whale.

It’s sad to see the dead baby whales.  For some reason, humans have a strong connection with whales.  It’s hard for us here to see whales harmed.  Amazing that we nearly hunted these gorgeous creatures to extinction.
