Lindsey Vonn has reported that she has suffered a hairline bone fracture in her left knee. The fracture is the result of a crash while ski racing in Andorra today.

Lindsey Vonn, the winningest female World Cup ski racer of all-time, crashed hard today racing super-G in Andorra and was taken off the hill by sled. Lindsey was taken to a local hospital in Andorra.
We’ve got our fingers crossed, but it’s not a great sign that Lindsey doesn’t move at all after her crash. She just lays there motionless until the put her in the sled…
She was leading all racers by .32 seconds at the split when she crashed about 50 seconds into a minute-long run.

The US Ski Team’s spokeswoman, Megan Harrod, confirmed to The Associated Press that Vonn hurt her left knee, and said she had no more details. We’re very glad it’s not her right knee where she has blown 2 ACLs, an MCL, and fractured her tibial plateau…
“She was taken off the mountain on a sled by ski patrol for evaluation. She is presently being evaluated to determine if she sustained any injuries.” – U.S. Ski Association said in a statement
The race was delayed a few hours today due to strong winds and heavy snow. Not ideal conditions for a World Cup ski race.
Lindsey Vonn is 31-years-old and went through two full ACL replacement surgeries, a tibial plateau fracture, and an MCL replacement surgery all within a 12 month period in 2013/14 all on her right knee. Luckily, today it’s being reported that she injured her left knee.
Coming into this race, Lindsey Vonn was leading the overall World Cup standings by 23 points over Switzerland’s Lara Gut. Lindsey has already won the overall World Cup title 4 times. Lara finished 16th today and Lindsey is still in the overall lead by 8 points after today’s race.
