Breckenridge Distillery set a new record for the world’s longest shot ski on Thursday, marking the 13th time the distillery has claimed the title. The lineup included 1,420 participants, 507 skis, and stretched 2,489 feet along Main Street in Breckenridge, Colorado.
The record attempt opened the 62nd annual Ullr Fest, the town’s long-running winter celebration honoring Ullr, the Norse god of snow. The festival draws locals and visitors each year for a parade and a series of offbeat, ski-town traditions meant to usher in a strong snow season.
This year’s shot ski featured Mountain Shot, a new ready-to-drink mushroom whiskey. The product—served in both portable pouches and 750ml bottles—has a chocolate-mint profile and comes in at 69 proof.
The annual record attempt has become a hallmark of Ullr Fest, reflecting Breckenridge’s long-running blend of winter tradition and community involvement. Whether the new mark stands or is challenged again next year, Main Street’s 2,489-foot toast offered a fitting start to the town’s celebration of snow—and a reminder of how strongly the community rallies around the arrival of winter.
