After receiving 10 inches of snowfall in the last week, Brian Head Resort became Utah’s first resort to open the 2025–26 ski season on Friday, November 21. The resort was originally scheduled to open on November 7 and subsequently postponed season opening twice, first to November 15 and then to November 21. The delayed opening followed weeks of unusually warm weather sweeping across the southern Rockies, delaying season opening in both Utah and Colorado.
But all is well that ends well, and Brian Head opened with top-to-bottom skiing and snowboarding on five trails. Paradise was groomed for opening day. Easy Time, The Strip, Fremont, and Gold Gulch were open as ungroomed terrain. All trails were serviced by the Navajo Express Lift. Terrain park features were also available on Paradise trail.
A first chair celebration was held at the Navajo Express Lift at 10 am. Guests in line early received giveaways, hot chocolate, and donuts.
In addition, the Navajo Lodge is now open for the season, providing rentals, ski and snowboard lessons, food, and beverages.

For the 2025–26 season, snowmaking has been expanded on Navajo Mountain, allowing more beginner and intermediate terrain to open earlier and remain open longer. Additional terrain and lifts, including Giant Steps Mountain, will open as conditions allow.

The resort is open daily through May 10, 2026, weather permitting. Lifts run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends and peak days. Lift tickets for the 2025-26 season start as low as $14 on select days, while kids 12 and under ski and ride free all year long.
At 9,600 feet above sea level, Brian Head is typically one of the first ski areas to open in Utah. The resort offers access to 650 acres of skiable terrain with 72 marked trails serviced by eight ski lifts. Brian Head receives, on average, 360 inches of snowfall a year. Brian Head Resort is located approximately three hours from Las Vegas and about four hours from Salt Lake City.
