Well, it looked like Brian Head would be taking the crown as the first Utah resort to open for the season, but at the last minute, Brighton Resort has swept in to beat them to it.

Brighton Resort announced on their Facebook yesterday that they will be opening on Thursday 15th, 24-hours earlier than Brian Head.

They average 500 inches of light, fluffy and dry snow a season, making it a paradise for riders & skiers. They are located directly in the path of winter storms and are also at the very top of Big Cottonwood Canyon so it gets the very best of the “greatest snow on earth,” and lots of it.

  • Brighton Resort Opening Day 11/15 details: Base Depth – 16″, Majestic & Explorer lifts to be open, Adult Lift Ticket $48, Hours: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Brian Head Opening Day 11/16 details: Chairs 3 & 6, Adult Lift Ticket $40 (*weekends), Hours: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

And at the end of the day, there isn’t really any winners or losers. The more resorts open the better!

Brighton Resort is just 1 of 37 iconic destinations available on the Ikon Pass.
