Weekends at Brighton Resort, Utah, just got even better.

Brighton Resort recently announced on its Facebook page the addition of Sundays to its night riding days this season, giving skiers more opportunities to enjoy the resort after dark. With Sundays now in the lineup, skiers can ride under the lights at Brighton from Wednesday to Sunday on select weeks when night riding starts.

“Starting during the 2026/2027 winter season we will be open for night riding on Sunday nights to make weekends even better at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon,” the resort wrote.

The Sunday night riding dates this season include Dec. 21 and 28, Jan. 18, and Feb. 15.

Night riding typically begins at the resort in mid-December, after snow has had time to accumulate and the resort has a solid base. When it begins, the resort opens up over 200 acres of illuminated terrain, with 32 total runs and five lifts spinning. The illuminated runs include a variety of green and blue trails, allowing for all levels of skiers to get their night laps in. The open terrain also includes three terrain parks to satisfy park skiers and snowboarders. Night riding hours take place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., letting skiers experience sunsets from the chairlifts as night begins to fall.

And when the darkness fully overtakes the resort, it is an experience Brighton skiers and snowboarders will not forget. The resort turns into a luminous playground filled with well-groomed trails, where skiers and snowboarders enjoy smooth, quiet laps under the Big Cottonwood Canyon stars. In the background, the moon reveals the distant mountains that surround the resort, making for an unforgettable and serene atmosphere at one of Utah’s most famous ski resorts.

Brighton’s night skiing is a rare offering for a resort of its caliber. Only a select few resorts across the North American West offer night skiing, as illuminating vast acres and preparing slopes for night skiing is costly and difficult. But despite the challenges, Brighton has remained committed to offering quality night skiing as it has for many years.

Brighton’s announcement of Sunday night skiing received many positive reactions, with many commenting about their excitement to get out there.

“The best news! Thank you!” one person wrote.

As the 2026-27 season quickly approaches, skiers and snowboarders at Brighton have something more to look forward to this season.

Anyone with a valid night lift ticket, a season pass, or an all-day/twilight ticket can night ski at Brighton Resort this season. Skiers considering season passes have until Sept. 11 to purchase them at their current prices.
