Clearwater Ski Hill in British Columbia, Canada, won’t open this season due to a lack of snow.

Board members of the non-profit Clearwater Ski Hill, 80 miles north of Kamloops, announced on Facebook last week. The resort had planned to open in January but didn’t because the snow base was about 16″ below the minimum needed for its ski runs.

“Due to our lack of snow and weird winter, things are not looking good on opening this year 👎🏻”

Clearwater Ski Hill is a small family resort with a fast T-bar, several runs, and a lodge.

The ski hill usually opens by Christmas or mid-January, but due to lack of snow the last ten years, it has only opened every other year.

The resort still plans to host fundraising events to keep the non-profit community hill in good shape.
