Doctors looking after Brock Crouch have instructed him to rest for at least the next few months, but he plans to be back to 100% fitness well ahead of the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022 where he hopes to compete in snowboard slopestyle.

The 18-year-old southern California snowboarder and surfer suffered a broken back, loss of his front teeth and a ruptured pancreas after getting swept over an 80-foot cliff in an avalanche while filming with Absinthe Films in the Whistler backcountry on April 22. Brock was buried for a full five minutes before being dug out.

Brock spent nearly a week at Vancouver General Hospital but is back home in Carlsbad recovering and is definitely positive about his recovery and the future.
