Caltrans Close a Number of Roads as Firefighters Battle Wildfires

WILDFIRE AND ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE: THE MORNING OF AUGUST 9, 2018

Good morning to all. Here is a list of wildfire-related road closures and the latest information we have on said wildfires.

– State Route 41 (SR-41) is open up to the Yosemite National Park entrance. The closure of SR-41/Wawona Road within Yosemite is due to the #FergusonFire. U.S. Forest Service – Sierra National Forest has announced that the Ferguson Fire is 79% contained and at just over 95,000.

– SR-108 is closed for over 22 miles from Eagle Meadow to the Tuolumne/Mono County line on Sonora Pass. This closure is due to the #DonnellFire. The Donnell Fire is at 6% containment and over 21,000 acres according to U.S. Forest Service-Stanislaus National Forest.

– SR-120 is open throughout San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties, and is open throughout Yosemite National Park (SR-120 becomes Tioga Road and Tioga Pass). The SR-120 Yosemite entrance was temporarily closed due to the #FergusonFire.

– SR-140 is open throughout Merced and Mariposa counties but is closed at the Yosemite entrance. This closure is due to the #FergusonFire.
