For the first time in 30 years, Camelback Resort, Pennsylvania, is adding new trails to its mountain, expanding its ski experience to 45 trails for the 2026-27 season. The three new trails give skiers and snowboarders more terrain to explore across a range of ability levels and make Camelback home to the most trails of any ski resort in the Poconos.
The new trails include a double-black-diamond trail at the top of the Stevenson Lift that connects to Pharaoh’s. The double-black-diamond trail will deliver a short but intense, narrow drop directly beneath the Stevenson Lift. It’s designed to challenge expert skiers in a way they haven’t experienced at Camelback before. A new blue-square trail will branch off skier’s left of Upper Cleopatra and connect to Big Pocono. The trail will feature a ski-up hot chocolate bar and will be Camelback Resort’s narrowest intermediate trail, with plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting. A black-diamond trail will open up an area beneath Black Bear 6, providing a new route from Basilisk to John Bailey. It will feature rollers and a more natural, ungroomed character on most days. It’s going to give our more advanced skiers a completely new experience.
Camelback is also introducing Alpine Outpost, a new food-and-beverage destination along the Coolmoor teaching trail, where the majority of the resort’s ski and snowboard lessons take place. The new on-mountain offering will give parents and guests a convenient place to grab food and beverages while watching the action on the teaching hill. A new hot chocolate bar will also debut off the ski trail coming from Upper Cleopatra, giving skiers and snowboarders another place to warm up and enjoy a seasonal favorite.

Supporting the expanded terrain, the Bailey Lift is scheduled to be operational on opening day with a new gearbox, providing additional lift capacity throughout the winter season. All of Camelback’s lifts have also been repainted in evergreen as part of a broader effort to refresh the mountain while maintaining the character of the Pocono landscape.
Under the new direction of Jason Bays, in his first year as VP and GM of Camelback Resort, the mountain saw a 126% increase in visitations during Christmas week 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Making it the fastest-growing ski resort in the country for that holiday stretch, according to data released by Slopes.
Last season, Camelback Resort kept skiing until May 5, when it hosted its Cinco de Mayo party. It was a historic, record-breaking season for Camelback, which started on December 3, making it the first ski resort to open in Pennsylvania for the winter. The mountain’s 2025-26 season lasted for 138 days of operation—the longest season in Camelback Mountain’s history. “Following a record season that saw us skiing through May 5, we’re excited to build on that momentum by adding new terrain for our skiers and riders,” Bays said in an email to SnowBrains. “Each of these new trails will have its own distinct character, giving guests something different to experience across the mountain.”

Winter travelers to Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains have new reasons to return to the slopes this season as Camelback Resort expands its mountain with three new trails and introduces a new mountainside dining experience. The resort is introducing distinct improvements for the 2026-27 ski season, giving skiers and snowboarders new terrain and experiences to discover throughout the winter. “This expansion reinforces our commitment to the ski experience,” Bays said. “We’re continually looking for new ways to give our guests more terrain, more variety and, ultimately, more ways to have fun on the mountain.”
