According to Men’s Health, a unnamed woman fell 60ft off of the Foresthill Bridge and onto a trail below her. She was attempting to take a selfie while hanging out with her friends. This woman is very lucky that she only fell 60ft because this bridge reaches heights of 730ft. Thankfully, the woman was quickly airlifted to a nearby hospital where she is expected to survive.

“[S]he was knocked unconscious, suffered a deep gash to her arm and fractured bones that will require surgery,” Paul Goncharuk, a friend of the woman’s, told a CNN affiliate what resulted from the disaster.

It was reported that the woman was on the off-limits, underside portion of the bridge when she stepped on a big bolt that holds the beams together. After stepping on it, she lost her balance and fell backwards off the bridge. It wasn’t the first time that people ventured to this portion of the bridge as police have recently started patrolling the area. Thankfully, the woman will not be charged criminally, but police have said that anyone found in that area will be arrested. We hope she makes a full and speedy recovery after this horrible accident.

  1. Why would you say “Thankfully, the women will not be charged criminally,”?

The person was somewhere that she should not have been, and likely required many thousands of dollars of public resources to rescue her. It was not an accident. It was a dumb-ass stunt that could have been avoided with some third-grade common sense.
