Chelsea Handler isn’t one to shy away from making a statement, and her 50th birthday was no exception. This year, the comedian and actor swapped her usual Whistler slopes for Idaho’s Soldier Mountain, celebrating the milestone with her signature tradition: skiing in a bikini.

Handler, who was born on February 25, 1975, has long embraced the annual near-naked ski as a symbol of confidence and fun. She first made headlines for the stunt on her 38th birthday in Whistler, Canada, and continued the tradition nearly every year since. While she’s typically spent her birthday week at her ski-in/ski-out chalet in Whistler, this year saw her take to the Idaho mountains with friends, all donning bikinis for the occasion.
Posting about the event on Instagram, Handler shared:

Located in central Idaho’s Sawtooth National Forest, Soldier Mountain is a lesser-known ski resort with a rich history. Founded in 1948, the resort was once owned by actor Bruce Willis, who helped modernize the area before selling it in 2012. Known for its uncrowded slopes, affordable lift tickets, and excellent backcountry terrain, Soldier Mountain has become a go-to destination for those seeking a more relaxed and adventurous ski experience.
Handler’s love for skiing has been well-documented. She has spent over a decade honing her skills, even dedicating two months in Whistler in 2018 to rebuild confidence after a torn ACL suffered in Switzerland. At 50, she remains as fearless as ever, proving that age is just a number—especially when it comes to embracing the mountains in style.
