After a winter fueled by Ullr prayers and steady stoke, the end has officially arrived. Breckenridge Ski Resort, Colorado, will close for the 2025–26 season on Sunday, April 19, wrapping things up with a high-energy weekend that leans fully into spring skiing’s signature mix of soft snow, sunshine, and celebration. The resort announced the closing day on its social media channels today.

The message from the mountain is clear: the lifts may be slowing down, but the party isn’t. Breckenridge is going out with “a bang, a huck, and a beat drop,” pairing its final laps with a lineup of events designed to keep the base area buzzing through closing day. A few inches of late-season snowfall are expected to freshen things up just in time, adding a fitting final touch to a season that’s stretched deep into April.

The centerpiece of closing weekend is the New Worlds Halfpipe Competition, set to run across Saturday and Sunday. The event brings together top riders while keeping things accessible, culminating in a public pipe session on Sunday, where skiers and snowboarders can drop in and take their own final hits of the season.

To make the final weekend even easier to access, the resort is offering free parking starting Saturday, April 18, removing one more barrier for those looking to squeeze in last turns. Expect a full spring scene: costumes, pond-skim energy (even if unofficial), and that unmistakable closing-weekend atmosphere where every lap feels like a bonus.

Even after the chairs stop spinning, Breckenridge isn’t done. On April 25, the resort will host its Peaks and Beats closing celebration, a post-season party featuring a free concert by Nimino, a complimentary passholder BBQ, and access to on-mountain attractions like the alpine coaster. It’s less a traditional closing and more a final exhale — one last gathering to mark the transition from winter to spring. Unfortunately, lifts won’t be spinning for Peaks and Beats, so make the most of this weekend if you are keen for some last turns.
