With the anticipation of the ski season creeping up, Snowbasin, UT, has announced an extensive list of upgrades that will enhance skiers’ and snowboarders’ experience in the near future. The most exciting and significant addition to the mountain will be the United States’ first all-inclusive ski resort hotel. The hotel will be located at the current site of the original Day Lodge and Wildcat Parking area with passenger access available through the upgraded Littlecat Express.

Club Med – a French company focused on offering all-inclusive vacations – plans to open Snowbasin, Utah’s first all-inclusive 5-star hotel, in 2024.

At the company’s press conference announcing Club Med’s 5-star hotel in Quebec, Canada, Carolyne Doyon – President and CEO of the company’s North America and Caribbean operations – announced the upcoming Utah plans and has exceptionally high hopes for the company’s potential success:

“Club Med is known for pioneering new destinations, and we are eager to introduce Snowbasin to travelers as well as bring the very first luxury all-inclusive mountain resort to the US. . . Continuing our 70-year legacy, Club Med Utah will give travelers additional opportunities to discover Utah’s natural beauty and welcoming communities through a transformative mountain getaway experience.”

Club Med is known for being an industry leader in all-inclusive vacation packages. Throughout each season, customers can select from various countries and packages to customize their vacation experience. Currently, Club Med has destination locations in Florida, the Caribbean, The Alps, Europe, the Mediterranean, Brazil, Africa, Asia, and the Indian Ocean. Club Med Utah will be the company’s first venture in the United States in over 20 years.

Anticipated resort amenities include:

  • Ski-in/ski-out access
  • Ski and snowboard lessons for all ages
  • Private hot tubs and pools
  • All you can eat dining at resort restaurants
  • Kids activities in the Club Med children’s club for ages four months – 17 years
  • 320 rooms including 2-bedroom deluxe rooms, family suites, and penthouse suites
  • Guided hiking tours through the resort’s 3,000-acre property
  • Club Med’s world-renowned circus activities in the summer months
  • Stunning architecture combining Club Med’s signature French style with classic Utah designs

Snowbasin opened its doors to skiers and snowboarders in 1940, making it one of the oldest ski resorts in the country. The resort has slowly but surely grown in size and amenities offered over the years. However, the addition of Club Med’s new resort will be the most significant extension to the Snowbasin area in a considerable amount of time. Not only will this new addition benefit the local Snowbasin community, but it will also benefit the entire state of Utah.  The resort will employ 400 people – stimulating the local and state economy. The resort will also attract a new market of skiers and snowboarders with its all-inclusive package, exponentially raising awareness for Snowbasin’s exceptional mountain throughout the entire year.
