Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) Will Resume Daily Forecasts Today

Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) announced on Facebook yesterday that they intend to begin their daily weather and avalanche forecasts today, Friday 1st November.

On November 1 we will resume daily weather and avalanche forecasts. We will issue daily Regional Backcountry Avalanche forecasts for the Northern, Central, and Southern Mountains by 3:00 PM, covering the next 48 hour period. We will issue daily weather forecasts for 11,000 feet by 6:00AM and 2:00 PM each day. Check colorado.gov/avalanche for the most up to date avalanche information in Colorado.

The first report of the season reads like this:

On November 1, the avalanche danger for the Northern and Central Mountains will be MODERATE (2 of 5). The danger will be LOW (1 of 5) in the Southern Mountains. We will be issuing updates each afternoon until we switch to Zone forecasts mid-November.
