While most of North America is currently experiencing its first consistent cold stretch, Banff Sunshine Village, Canada is experiencing full-on winter. Sunshine Village opened for the season on Thursday, November 3rd, 2016, making it their earliest opening day in 30 years. The ski resort has gotten help from Mother Nature this year in the form of consistent cold temperatures and above-average snowfall.
“We’ve received 9cm of snow in the last 24 hours!!! Excellent Early Season conditions on the runs, with good coverage,” stated Sunshine Village after receiving more snow overnight.
Current Conditions At Sunshine Village:

Cold temperatures are expected to persist throughout the near future, along with snowfall returning to the area at the beginning of next week. Sunshine Village relies on Snow Farming techniques to build early season base, so Mother Nature has provided very well for them this year. They only rely on two snow guns to build a base towards the bottom of the mountain, which is very impressive considering their current conditions.
