At the base of Aspen Mountain, Colorado, just steps from the historic Lift One, construction crews are at work on what developers say will be a new benchmark for ski-in, ski-out luxury. Chalet Alpina, a hotel and residential retreat with a private members club, is slated to debut later this year, adding another layer of opulence to one of America’s most exclusive mountain towns.
The project combines a new high-end resort and residences with restored historic skier’s chalets, one repurposed as a restaurant and another as Aspen’s new ski museum. Developers say the resort will also anchor a broader revitalization of the Lift One corridor, with a high-speed Lift One, new public park space, and pedestrian connections into downtown Aspen.
Chalet Alpina is being developed by Los Angeles–based Irongate Group, known for Costa Palmas in Mexico, in partnership with Aspen-based HayMax, the firm behind the Michelin Key–rated MOLLIE Aspen hotel. Architecture is led by Guerin Glass Architects of Brooklyn, while interiors are designed by Martin Brudnizki, whose studio has crafted spaces for London’s Annabel’s and Miami’s Soho Beach House.
Brudnizki said the design draws directly from Aspen’s heritage. “The inspiration behind the design of Chalet Alpina takes cues from Aspen’s history, blending the classic ski destination aesthetic with thoughtful details that bring a sense of luxury, comfort, fun and tradition,” he said. “From the resort to the residences and club spaces, the design weaves together Aspen’s enduring legacy with rich, modern layers that offer something truly unique to the charming mountain village; a space that feels both timeless and transportive.”

The interiors, he added, are meant to unfold seamlessly. “Each space will flow into the next, with a quiet rhythm and a sense of narrative,” Brudnizki said. “By layering soft forms, inviting textures and colors drawn from the surrounding landscape, the interiors will feel immersive and transportive — as though the guests and residents have stepped into a beautifully told story.”
When complete, Chalet Alpina will include 26 residences ranging from two to four bedrooms, as well as six expansive mountain homes, all with ski-in, ski-out privileges and access to the resort’s full suite of amenities. Those amenities will include a rooftop pool, spa, private ski shop, fitness center, and dining and entertainment venues, alongside access to the members club.
For Aspen, where real estate prices regularly break national records—including the recent listing of the most expensive home in the country—Chalet Alpina represents another bet on the enduring pull of ultra-luxury alpine living.
