Copper reported 7″ of fresh this morning, and 9″ by the end of the day. In places it skied like a lot more than that.
It dumped early, easing up in the afternoon, and light was flat. Temps started around 10ºF and fell towards a bitter 1ºF.
The cold storm meant blower conditions.
Resolution skied great early and was bumped out quickly.
Mountain Chief and Copper Bowl were the real gems today. Cornice drops and face shots abounded near Bradley’s.
Golden Crest was untouched all day. Still low tide, but worthwhile if you weren’t on brand new skis (and they can’t be new forever, can they?).
Ski patrol low-key opened some of Spaulding Bowl later in the day, making for stellar afternoon skiing. Patrol Chute was stacked.
Dropping temps made for some close calls with frostbite. Check your nose and toes!
Friday will be chilly and bluebird, with lots of fresh snow to be had.
After some warming this weekend, more snow on the way early next week—it’s only getting better out there.
