Copper Mountain, CO and its parent company, POWDR, announced yesterday that guests will continue to benefit from Copper’s $100 million multi-year transformations in the 2019-20 season. Included is new, lift-serviced access to expert high alpine terrain on Tucker Mountain and a new mid-mountain lodge to replace Solitude Station for winter 2020-21. The 2019-20 season will also include Copper’s debut of Woodward Peace Park, a unique, ever-evolving terrain park which will be open for all guests to enjoy.

“I’m thrilled to announce Copper’s newest Tucker Mountain chairlift allowing more skiers and riders to access Copper’s unique high alpine terrain,” said Dustin Lyman, president, and general manager of Copper Mountain Resort. “At the same time, we will begin construction on a new mid-mountain lodge to replace Solitude Station and craft the designs for the Woodward Peace Park in partnership with Danny Davis, a U.S. Snowboard Olympian and X Games gold medalist. This is all complimentary to our other recent additions, including the American Flyer and American Eagle lifts,  the Rocky Mountain Coaster, Koko’s, Downhill Duke’s and more. Copper has something for everyone and is undeniably the place in Colorado for the whole family. There has never been an easier or better way to access authentic, Colorado adventure.”

Starting during the 2019-20 season, the Tucker Mountain lift, a three-person fixed grip, will unlock access to 273 acres of expert terrain every day of the week. The lift will rise over 1,100 vertical feet, reaching 12,200 feet in elevation and allowing more skiers and riders to enjoy steep chutes and gladed trails. Previously this terrain was only accessible via snowcat service on weather-permitting weekend days. The new lift will run from the bottom of the Blackjack chair to the top of The Taco chute and will be complemented with a ski patrol warming hut and new restroom facilities at the base of the Mountain Chief chair in Copper Bowl.

Other development at Copper Mountain includes construction of a new lodge, which will replace Solitude Station, Copper’s mid-mountain lodge, and feature convenient access from American Eagle lift to a 25,000 sq. ft. reimagined lodge experience. Construction is already underway and will continue through the 2019-20 ski season. Once complete, the new lodge will feature a full-service casual restaurant, full-service bar and lounge, private dining area, cafeteria options and  180-degree views of the vast Colorado mountain landscape.

“With all of the exciting development at Copper, now, more than ever, is a great time for the next generation of skiers, snowboarders and families to call Copper Mountain Colorado their home mountain,” said Lyman.

Copper Mountain, CO is just 1 of 38 iconic destinations available on the new Ikon Pass.
