Report from February 20, 2025

Today we returned to Courmayeur to continue our hunt for powder in the larch trees.

I still can’t get over pine trees that lose their leaves in the winter…

How did I not know this was a thing!?

We rode gondola to gondola to tram to sardine can again and boosted out into the sidecountry.

I had a particular line in mind and was very confident it was going to be powder snow.

It mostly was…

The top was weird and hooky snow in the chute above the close-out cliff.

The escape chute to the left held better snow that was rippable.

Down in the trees, there was some true powder.

All this together made for a great adventure out there.

We then went back to the resort and I spun a few groomer/terrain park laps.

All the groomers were soft, supple, and fun.

This is a very neat ski resort.

Thanks, Italy!
