{It’s Monday, and that means it’s time for Music for your Monday’s, a new weekly feature here on Snowbrains where we bring you a band or artist that we think deserves a spot on your skiing, riding, biking, whatever playlist.}

For this weeks Music Monday we continue the BC band theme and bring you one of my personal favorite, Current Swell. I first saw Current Swell back in the summer of 2009 in Whistler during Crankworx, and they have been a favorite ever since. Combining the styles of folk, rock, roots, blues, and reggae, they have often been described as surf rock, smooth, easy music with soul. While not the best music for your riding playlist, it has its place and time, very chill music, perfect for those beach days this summer.

Formed in Victoria British Columbia in 2005, Current Swell is comprised of five band members and has released four studio albums thus far. The band has seen much success in recent years, touring the US and South America, much of the success they attribute to their loyal fan base. In 2011, Current Swell won the Vancouver Peak Performance Project presented by the Vancouver radio station 102.7 The Peak. Current Swell is an amazing group of musicians that produce exceptional music, and with more tour dates on the way and hopefully some new music, there’s no reason no to check out this amazing band.
