{It’s Monday, and that means it’s time for Music for your Monday’s, a new weekly feature here on Snowbrains where we bring you a band or artist that we think deserves a spot on your skiing, riding, biking, whatever playlist.}

This week we bring you Daft Punk based on a suggestion by reader Tydel. Daft Punk has been pushing the boundaries of dance music for almost two decades and have influenced countless musicians in their time. And with the release of one of the most anticipated albums of the year, Random Access Memories, it is clear that Daft Punk is continuing to set the standard in musical innovation

Bursting onto the scene in 1995 with their single “Da Funk”, Daft Punk has influenced the pop industry from their beginnings. The duo consisting of French musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter were some of the most influential house artists in France during the late 90’s and pushed musical innovation throughout the world formulating models that many artists would go on to copy. Artists such as Madonna, Skrillex, and Kanye West have all been influenced by Daft Punk and produce music bearing that influence. The duo continues to create unique and industry changing music with the release of their fourth studio album Random Access Memories. Go ahead and give it a listen, it might not sound like the Daft Punk we know and love, but keep listening, it’ll grow on ya.
