Deer Valley Resort in Utah has released a new trail map showcasing its largest expansion in history, nearly doubling the resort’s size to over 4,300 acres of skiable terrain. The updated map, painted by ski map artist Rad Smith, features almost 80 new trails and seven new chairlifts that will open for the 2025-26 ski season. Much of the new terrain rises above the resort’s developing East Village base area, bringing landmarks like Park Peak, Big Dutch Peak, Keetley Point, and Pioche Point officially into the resort’s boundary.

According to Deer Valley’s vice president of marketing, Susie English, the expansion marks a defining moment for the resort. “With more lifts, more runs, and a greatly expanded footprint, it reflects how far we’ve come in realizing our vision to elevate the Deer Valley experience while maintaining the character and care that define our resort,” English said in a press release.

While the terrain includes steep sections, particularly around Park Peak, the resort has emphasized that it will not feature double black diamond runs this season. The signature new trail, Redemption, an advanced-intermediate run reminiscent of Stein’s Way, is already earning praise for its smooth fall line and sweeping mountain views.

The updated layout also improves access for all ability levels. Beginners will find welcoming slopes near the Pinyon Express, intermediates will enjoy the terrain on Dutch Peak and improved access from last year’s additions, and advanced skiers can explore several new black diamond runs off the East Village Gondola and Revelator Express.

The expansion continues beyond this season, with Hail Peak, which is visible from Interstate 80, set to open in the 2026-27 season, adding another high-speed lift and more challenging terrain. Deer Valley’s 2025-26 winter begins with a passholder preview on November 29-30, followed by a public opening on December 1.

The new trail map is a symbol of how much Deer Valley has grown and where it’s headed next. By blending ambitious expansion with the refined experience the resort is known for, the resort is stepping confidently into a new era while holding onto the quality and charm that have long set it apart. For skiers eager to explore fresh terrain and familiar elegance, this winter marks the beginning of something special on the Wasatch slopes.
