Delta Air Lines, known for catering to winter enthusiasts looking to hit the mountains across the country, has announced it will offer flights from the Midwest to Colorado this upcoming season. Over the holidays, from December 20, 2025, to January 5, 2026, the airline will offer daily flights between Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport and Eagle County Regional Airport in Gypsum, Colorado. The Eagle County Airport is a short drive from major ski resorts, including Beaver Creek (25 miles), Vail (30 miles), and Copper Mountain (42 miles). Breckenridge is slightly farther, at about one hour by car. According to preliminary reports, the flight will then switch to a once-a-week schedule on Saturdays, running through the end of March 2026.
Delta also offers flights to numerous top ski destinations in the United States and around the world. Some popular ski destinations you can fly to with Delta include Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Bozeman, Montana; Vail, Colorado; Salt Lake City, Utah; Aspen, Colorado; and Sun Valley, Idaho. Delta also has flights to ski destinations in Canada, Switzerland, and Japan. In addition, Delta Vacations also offers bundled ski getaways, which include flights, hotel accommodations, and other activities.
Last summer, Delta Air Lines announced that it would operate their largest-ever flight schedule to popular ski destinations. The Atlanta-based carrier announced it would operate at a higher frequency or begin new service to the following popular ski destinations: Aspen, Bozeman, Jackson Hole, Montrose/Telluride, Steamboat Springs, Sun Valley, and Vail.
“With our latest winter schedule, customers have more choices than ever, with up to 190 weekly flights to places our customers want to fly to most, paired with the premium services and amenities our customers always enjoy.”
— Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President of Network Planning, Delta Air Lines
These additions are part of the airline’s seasonal adjustments heading into the 2025-26 winter, aimed at capturing high-demand weekend traffic to major ski markets. While other carriers are scaling back amid the economic headwinds, Delta is selectively expanding into premium leisure corridors. The airline is targeting high-yield corridors that are particularly popular with leisure travelers, where it can gain market share from low-cost competitors, as well as underserved routes.
Delta Air Lines’ expanded winter service underscores its commitment to meeting the needs of premium leisure travelers seeking convenient access to top ski destinations. By launching new routes, such as the Minneapolis–Eagle County connection, and increasing frequencies to high-demand mountain markets, Delta is positioning itself as the airline of choice for winter sports enthusiasts. Coupled with its award-winning premium service and bundled vacation offerings through Delta Vacations, the carrier is capitalizing on a seasonal surge in demand while distinguishing itself from competitors scaling back. For travelers planning mountain getaways this winter, Delta’s enhanced network offers both comfort and convenience to some of the world’s most sought-after slopes.
