The latest storm to hit Denver, CO officially dropped 5.7″ on the city, bringing the season total to 74.5″. The season-average is 57″.

The snow that fell on Friday was enough to make this winter the snowiest in eight years and takes Denver within touching distance of the 79″ of winter 1991-92.

The overall record for Denver is 118.7″ that fell in 1908-09, and is the only time 100″ has been exceeded.

Another storm is heading towards the state today, but will it bring the ~5″ required to make it the snowiest winter in 29-years? The NOAA is calling for 3-5″, so it’s not impossible.
