Denver, CO, smashed a longstanding daily hottest temperature record yesterday when the mercury reached triple digits.
The temperature at Denver International Airport reached 100ºF, exceeding the previous record of 98ºF set in 1876.
According to the NWS, it is the fifth time this year that the temperature has exceeded 100ºF, ranking 2021 as joint 3rd for most 100ºF days in a calendar year.
