Both Denver, CO and Salt Lake City, UT hit 100ºF over the holiday smashing their all-time record highs for September.

Denver hit 100º on Monday, smashing the previous record of 98ºF set just the previous day. In Utah, the record was slightly longer standing. This was only the second triple-digit September temperature on record for Salt Lake City, the only other one was in 1979.

The Wasatch Front, as well as southern Wyoming and southern Idaho, were under a red flag warning Monday with fire danger considered high, reports the Salt Lake Tribune.

Does anybody remember Labor Day 1961? That day in Denver the temperature was 33ºF and the city saw over 4″ of snow! Which would you prefer?
