What will you do when you retire? Think you’ll be climbing Mt. Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe, or Denali, the highest peak in North America? Or even attempting to bag all Colorado’s 14ers?

Summit High School graduate Kimberly Coffin created this short documentary about Summit County seniors Doris Spencer and Kent Willoughby, who did just that and who now, in their late seventies, skin up Arapahoe Basin, CO every morning. The documentary was created for her senior capstone project.

“When you are over the hill, you pick up speed” Kent Willoughby

Once the snow melts, their adventures don’t end, they only begin. They are constantly looking for mountains to climb and trails to hike.

“I think I get around a little better than most people near 80-years old”.

We agree with you Kent, and probably better than a lot a quarter of your age.
