Dodge Ridge, CA say an opening day announcement is imminent following the recent storms to hit California took their season snowfall to 40″.
The most recent post on their Facebook page states:
Following last night’s winter storm, we picked up 6″ of new snowfall at our summit and a little over 4โ at our base area. Currently, we have cold temperatures on the mountain of 20 degrees at our summit and 29 degrees at the base. Snow flurries are expected throughout the day today with up to an inch of additional snowfall possible.
This is definitely a good start with the next round of winter storms set for Sunday night into Monday, and an additional series of storms forecast for multiple days mid-week. The forecast calls for cold cold temperatures, dipping down into the teens and single digits overnight for the coming week ahead.
Stay tuned, weโll be providing regular updates as Mother Nature delivers new snowfall this week.
Usually averaging over 300″ of annual snowfall, this season has been particularly dry, so far. Let’s hope this is about to change for the family-run resort, the closest to the Bay Area.
